# Commands & permissions

Commands, keys, items and permissions of Cuxial Chipeo, and who can use each one.

Cuxial Chipeo has one player command, one workshop command and two staff commands. Most actions are done with items and from the head unit.

## Commands

| Command            | Who                     | What it does                                                                                                                                                                                     |
| ------------------ | ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `/chipeo` | Everyone | Opens or closes the head unit of the vehicle you are in, or of the nearest vehicle within `remoteRange`. The server decides whether you may control it. |
| `/repairchipeo` | Jobs in `mechanic.jobs` | Repairs the fried equipment of the vehicle you are in or the nearest one within `mechanic.range`. Consumes the materials of `mechanic.requirements`. Only exists with `mechanic.enabled = true`. |
| `/removeallchipeo` | Staff | Removes every portable speaker placed on the server. |
| `/removechipeo`    | Staff                   | Removes the portable speakers within `admin.nearbyRadius` of you.                                                                                                                                |

{% hint style="info" %}
All four names can be changed in `shared/config.lua`: `command`, `mechanic.command`, `admin.removeAll` and `admin.removeNearby`. The staff commands delete the speakers without giving the item back to their owners.
{% endhint %}

## Test mode commands

These only exist with `debug = true` and require staff (`admin.permission`). They run the same actions as the items, without needing or consuming anything.

| Command                  | What it does                                                                |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `/chipeo_install` | Installs the equipment in the vehicle you are in or the nearest one. |
| `/chipeo_unmount`        | Removes it.                                                                 |
| `/chipeo_usb [capacity]` | Inserts a virtual USB stick in the vehicle you are in. 32 songs if omitted. |
| `/chipeo_medusa [item]`  | Places a portable speaker. `item` is one of the keys of `items.medusas`.    |
| `/chipeo_repair` | Repairs fried equipment, with no job and no materials. |

## Keys

| Key                   | What it does                                                                                              |
| --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| <kbd>F4</kbd> | Opens or closes the head unit. Default from `keybind`; each player can rebind it in the GTA key settings. |
| <kbd>Alt</kbd> (held) | With the head unit open, releases the mouse to move the camera. Set in `ui.cameraKey`. |

## Items

| Item | How it is used | What it does |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `chipeo_radio` | Inside the vehicle or next to it | Installs the equipment after a progress bar. The item is consumed. |
| `chipeo_unmount` | Inside the vehicle or next to it | Removes the equipment. The item is consumed, and you receive the `chipeo_radio` back and the USB stick that was inserted. |
| `usb_8` to `usb_128` | Inside a vehicle with equipment | Inserts that stick in the radio. If another stick was inserted, it is ejected first and returned to you. |
| Speaker items | On foot | Places the speaker in front of you. It pairs with the nearest vehicle with equipment within `medusa.pairRange`. |

The equipment belongs to the plate of the vehicle. A vehicle keeps it through restarts, garages and respawns as long as the plate is the same.

### USB sticks

* The capacity is the number of songs the stick holds.
* Songs are saved on the stick, not on the car. Eject it from the library tab and it returns to your inventory with its songs.
* Inserting, ejecting and cloning require being inside the vehicle.
* Cloning copies the songs of the inserted stick onto a blank stick from your inventory, one that has never been inserted, with enough capacity for all of them.

### Portable speakers

Interact with a placed speaker through the target:

| Option                | Who                                           | What it does                                                                   |
| --------------------- | --------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Open radio | The owner, or anyone if the speaker is public | Opens the head unit of the paired car. Only shown while the speaker is paired. |
| Make public / private | The owner | Lets everyone, or only the owner, control the radio from this speaker. |
| Pick up medusa | The owner, or staff | Removes the speaker and returns the item. |

A speaker sounds while its car is within `medusa.signalRange`. Placed speakers are deleted when the resource stops, and their items are not returned.

## Permissions

### Who can control a radio

| Situation                  | Requirement                                                                                  |
| -------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Inside the vehicle | None. Any occupant, in any seat. |
| Outside the vehicle | Be the owner of the vehicle or the player who installed the equipment, within `remoteRange`. |
| Through a portable speaker | Be the owner of the speaker, or the speaker is public, within `remoteRange` of it. |

### Who can install, remove and repair

| Action  | Requirement                                                                                                                            |
| ------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Install | Have the item. With `install.ownerOnly = true`, also own the vehicle. The model must not be in `vehicles.blacklist`. |
| Remove | Have the item and room for the equipment in the inventory. With `install.unmountOwnerOnly = true`, also be the owner or the installer. |
| Repair | Have a job listed in `mechanic.jobs` and all the materials. |

The owner of a vehicle is read from your framework's vehicle table through Cuxial Bridge. A vehicle with no owner in the database has none for these checks.

### Staff

Staff are the players with the framework permission named in `admin.permission`, `'admin'` by default, checked through Cuxial Bridge. It allows:

* `/removeallchipeo` and `/removechipeo`.
* Picking up portable speakers placed by other players.
* Test mode and its commands, with `debug = true`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.cuxial.com/scripts/vehicles/cuxial-chipeo/commands.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
