# Features guide

How Cuxial Police is used in game: the three factions, their tablet tabs and the tools they share.

Cuxial Police sorts every job into one of three factions and gives each one a different tablet. This page explains which modules each faction has and how they are used in game.

## The three factions

| Faction | Who belongs | What sets it apart |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------- |
| Police | The jobs listed in `policeJobs` | Law enforcement tabs and field tools |
| EMS | The jobs listed in `emsJobs` | Medical tabs, pharmacy and appointments |
| Federal agency | The jobs listed in `addons.fib.jobs` | Everything the police has, plus investigation tabs |

The federal agency is an addon. Its name (`addons.fib.label`), its jobs and its colours are settings, and with `addons.fib.enabled = false` it does not exist: no tabs, no radio list and no tables of its own.

Each faction has its own colour theme, radio frequencies, dispatch, Central board, roster, time control, divisions and medals. Citizens and vehicles are shared. Reports are kept apart: police, EMS and the federal agency each see only their own.

{% hint style="info" %}
Federal jobs count as law enforcement. They cuff, frisk, jail and fine exactly like the police, and police alerts also reach them.
{% endhint %}

## Tablet tabs by faction

The grade needed to see each tab is set in the permissions section. See [Commands & permissions](/scripts/police-and-medical/cuxial-police/commands.md#grade-permissions).

## Opening the tablet and going on duty

The tablet opens with the `cuxial_mdt` item or at a station point of type `mdt`. Only members of a faction can open it.

Duty is toggled at a station point of type `duty` or from the tablet. The quick menu, the dispatch sidebar and the radio keys only work on duty. Time on duty is recorded and shown in the time control tab.

## Police

### Tablet

* **Citizens.** Search by name, phone or identifier. The file shows notes, fines, licences, vehicles, properties and the mugshot, and lets an officer mark the citizen as wanted or dangerous.
* **Vehicles.** Search by plate, mark as wanted, add notes and a photo.
* **Reports.** Reports with agents, implicated people, victims, vehicles, fines and evidence. Evidence is taken from the officer's inventory and returned when the report is deleted.
* **Penal code.** Chapters and articles with a fine and a sentence in months, edited from the tablet.
* **Wanted list and debtors.** Citizens flagged as wanted, and citizens with unpaid fines.
* **Prison management.** Sentence a nearby player, see the active sentences and release an inmate.
* **Cameras.** Body cameras of officers on duty, tracked vehicles and the CCTV props around the officer.
* **Operations.** Shapes drawn on the map that every officer sees, with a time limit.
* **Staff management.** Hire, dismiss, change rank and badge number, assign divisions and medals, and write notes on an agent.

### Quick menu

Opened with <kbd>F7</kbd> while on duty.

| Action         | What it does                                                  |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Pat-down | Searches a nearby player and lists the illegal items found |
| Frisk | Opens the inventory of a nearby player |
| Cuff | Cuffs or uncuffs, standing or on the ground |
| Escort         | Leads a cuffed player                                         |
| Put in vehicle | Seats the escorted player in a vehicle |
| Open vehicle | Lockpick minigame on a locked vehicle |
| Impound | Opens the impound menu of `cuxial_garages` when it is running |
| Objects | Places cones, barriers and other props from a catalogue |
| Traffic points | Creates a control zone that stops or releases traffic |
| Ankle monitor | Places a monitor with GPS, alarm and shock |

The quick menu also holds the personal options: radio animation, radio volume, map blip and body camera.

### Other tools

* **Surrender.** An officer on duty who aims a weapon at a player and presses the middle mouse button asks for surrender. The player accepts with <kbd>Y</kbd> or refuses with <kbd>N</kbd>.
* **Fingerprint scanner.** Fixed points where an officer reads the print of a nearby player.
* **Gunshot alerts.** A shot reported by your weapons resource sends an alert, unless the shooter is on duty, the weapon is in the ignored list or it carries a silencer. The event to fire is in [Exports & events](/scripts/police-and-medical/cuxial-police/developers.md#gunshot-alerts).
* **Photo camera.** Takes the mugshot or the vehicle photo and uploads it.

## EMS

### Tablet

* **Patients.** Medical file with conditions, treatments, notes, prescriptions, bills and, with `cuxial_diseases`, the diagnosed diseases and their cure plan.
* **Medical records.** The EMS version of reports, with diagnoses.
* **Pharmacy.** Dispenses medicines. Controlled medicines need a higher grade.
* **Billing catalogue.** Categories and items with a price, used to bill a patient.
* **Agenda.** Medical appointments by type, with reminders, check-in and a no-show state.
* **Morgue.** Death certificates.
* **Cameras, Central, Radio and Staff management** work as in the police tablet.

### Medicines

Each medicine is an inventory item with a cooldown, an effect and an overdose risk. A medicine can be blocked when the patient has a condition that contraindicates it. Prescriptions and death certificates can be handed out as paper items that open a viewer when used.

### Appointments

A doctor books the appointment from the agenda. The patient gets a reminder (by SMS and e-mail when `lb-phone` is running), checks in at a reception point of the hospital and sees the appointment on screen. Closing an appointment can bill the patient and create the next step of a cure plan.

### Quick menu

Examine, CPR, heal and the stretcher actions call `cuxial_medical`. Escort and object placement work without it.

## Federal agency

The federal tablet has every police tab and adds the investigation tabs below. Organisations, intelligence and operations read their data from your gang resource (`addons.fib.gangResource`).

### Case files

Each case has an official number (`caseNumberPrefix`, year and sequence), a status, a priority, a classification from 0 to 3 and a lead agent. A case is visible to its team and to anyone whose grade reaches the clearance set for its classification. Cases hold subjects, notes, tasks, linked reports, linked organisations and a timeline.

### Subjects of interest

A federal file on a citizen, with a threat level and a watch list. A watch-listed subject shows a federal tag when the police read their fingerprint.

### Organisations

A profile of each criminal organisation that fills in as the agency gathers intelligence. Agents add members by hand as suspects; a supervisor confirms a suspect by attaching a proof. They also record criminal acts, proofs (photos, video links, reports, evidence) and located places.

{% hint style="info" %}
With the default settings, intelligence only rises through the agency's own work. Set `intel.auto = true` to count police and gang activity as well.
{% endhint %}

### Dismantling an organisation

Staff define the requirements an investigation must meet (`addons.fib.dismantle`). Agents never see those requirements or their progress. When they are all met, a senior agent can request the dismantling, and a staff member approves or denies it from the tablet.

### Judicial warrants

Three kinds: arrest, search and surveillance. Any agent with permission requests one and a supervisor signs it. A signed warrant expires after the hours set in `warrants.durationHours`. An active arrest warrant appears in the police wanted list and is closed when the police jail the subject.

### Operations

A planned action against an organisation: raid, territory sweep, coordinated arrest or seizure. It has objectives, a team and a radio frequency, and can be joint with the police. With `ops.requireWarrant = true`, raids and seizures need an active search warrant. Closing an operation applies its result to the organisation and starts a cooldown.

### Surveillance devices

| Device | How it is used |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Hidden camera | Placed on a wall, ceiling or floor; watched live from the tablet |
| Hidden microphone | Placed the same way; plays nearby voices to the agent |
| GPS tracker | Attached to the nearest vehicle; shows its position and trail |
| Detector | Equipped by anyone; beeps near a device and lets them remove it |

Devices have a battery life and a limit of active units per agent.

## Shared by all factions

* **Radio.** Frequencies grouped by category, one push-to-talk key for the current frequency and one for the command tier.
* **Dispatch sidebar.** Incoming alerts with keys to browse them, set a waypoint and dismiss them.
* **Central.** A board of alerts for the dispatcher, with notes, unit assignment and messages to the units.
* **Map blips.** On-duty members of the same faction see each other on the map.
* **Hiring.** A member with permission sends a job offer to a nearby player, who accepts or declines.

## For citizens

* **`/entorno`** reports something to the police.
* **Payment points** list the citizen's unpaid fines or medical bills and take the payment.
* **Prison.** A sentence is counted in months; each month lasts the seconds set in `prison.monthSeconds` and only counts down while the player is online.

## For staff

* **Settings tab.** Every setting of the script, edited in game. See [Configuration](/scripts/police-and-medical/cuxial-police/configuration.md).
* **Station points.** Duty, stash, armoury, MDT terminal or custom event, placed in game and limited by faction, grade and duty state.
* **Dismantling requests.** Approve or deny what the federal agency requests.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.cuxial.com/scripts/police-and-medical/cuxial-police/features.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
